Litewave Media Celebrates 7 Years of Tampa Video Production

Litewave Media Celebrates 7 Years of Tampa Video Production

Litewave Media, one of the most innovative Tampa video production companies, recently celebrated its seventh anniversary, so we thought this was a great time to share some of our very best work from 2012 in our 2013 demo reel!

What began in Litewave Media founder Christian Schwier’s home in 2005 has expanded exponentially over the last few years. Our production team has worked on a variety of projects from feature films, national reality TV shows, corporate training videos, TV commercials, and award winning short films. We’ve worked all across the U.S. and around the world in locales like Nigeria, Europe and the Cayman Islands.

Litewave Media founder Christian Schwier and Producer/Writer Jeff Zampino win a 2012 ADDY Award for their Trend Apprentice video.

Our Tampa video crew has grown from a one-man operation to a team of camera operators, set designers, producers, writers, make-up artists, video editors and more. We’ve continually expanded our range of video equipment and editing suites. Our arsenal now includes multiple HD and 4K camera packages, including the RED Scarlet, Panasonic HPX-170, HVX-200, Canon 5D Mark III, and Canon 7 D.

Our client list has grown tremendously. We filmed a concert for gospel stars Cepeda McKay and No Limits and dove into ABC’s Shark Tank to shoot the backstory for a local contestant. We also helped women Shrink Their Dress with nutrition and fitness expert Dr. Delrae Messer and met Dr. Condoleeza Rice at the Republican National Convention. Our current projects include a series of over 50 training videos for Microsoft as well as filming two episodes for ABC’s “The Chew” that will air next month!

As Tampa corporate video producers, we filmed projects for clients like Health-e-Systems, and Ideal Image, and won multiple ADDY and Telly awards for our work. We participated in national film festivals with our short and feature-length films, and took home 8 trophies at the 48 Hour Film Project this year including best film for our short titled “F” (which will be competing nationally at Filmapalooza in LA in March).

As we plan for our next stage of growth, we look forward to taking Litewave Media to a whole new level as Tampa’s leading video production company. In December 2012 our company opened a new 3200 square foot Tampa video studio facility, Litewave Studios, in St. Petersburg, Florida where we will produce, shoot and edit our video projects, as well as provide studio rental space and crew for other productions.

We also look forward to completing our next film, The Skyship Chronicles and acquiring distribution for Jules Dongu Saves the World, a full-length anime-action adventure film which premiered at The Gotham Screen International Film Festival in New York City last October.

In closing, we’d like to share a reel of some of our Tampa production studio’s favorite work with you. We hope you enjoy.

Tampa Production Company Films New Fitness Video Series

Out Tampa video studio was hired this month to produce Shrink Your Dress, a series of exercise videos featuring Dr. Delrae Messer, a fitness and nutrition expert who has helped thousands. Geared toward women, the high-intensity exercise series is comprised of 16 total workouts, each 15 to 20 minutes long.

Dr. Delrae Messer and two of her fitness models get ready to work out. After a full day of prepping the gymnasium at a St. Petersburg school, our Tampa film crew shot Dr. Delrae and her seven workout models using three different cameras. The primary camera, an HPX-170, filmed from a slider dolly operated by Litewave Media crew member Jeff Zampino. In addition, two Panasonic HVX-200 cameras filmed in HD, one on a Steadicam operated by Jesse McLane and the other handheld by Taylor Girard. Litewave Media principle, Christian Schwier, directed and will also be the editor on the project.

Dr. Delrae takes a minute to chat with the Litewave Media crew.

The rest of the crew included Mike Barnitt on sound, Kris Wagner on lighting, Anya Yuschenko doing make-up, and production assistants Rachel Lappe and Harold “Pinky” Hood. Litewave Media partner, St. Petersburg photography studio Saint Pete Photo, was also on hand to shoot stills for the marketing aspect of the launch.

Director Christian Schwier makes sure everything’s perfect on the set.

The 16 workouts were designed by Dr. Delrae specifically to help women look and feel better. Messer, who has been featured on ShopNBC with Suzanne Somers, is known internationally for her Delrae Detox program that cleanses the body and increases energy levels. The seven fitness models were pushed by Dr. Delrae to give it their all, and they agreed the workouts are a great way to help ladies get in shape.

Here’s the original blog about the music video from May 3, 2012!

Litewave Media’s Tampa video crew headed to Weeki Wachee Springs, Florida to film the music video for Erin Cosgrove’s new single, “Dirty Blue Jeans.”  This high end music video production will support the band’s efforts to help the single go viral.

Litewave Media the leading innovative video production company, took a Tampa production crew of twelve, including lighting techs, camera, Jib, and Dolly operators, and production assistants to the famous Florida state park known for its ancient cypress oaks.  The video was filmed on three Canon 7D cameras using Canon L series lenses, which provided stellar quality and pushed the optical envelope.

The flora and fauna at Weeki Wachee provided the perfect backdrop for the country-crossover single. Getting the perfect shots and right angles was a breeze with Kessler Crane’s motorized slider. Add in the Steadicam, Varizoom Quick Jib and a number of DSLR shoulder rigs and the result is clear, crisp footage that will create a video worthy of an MTV premier.

Editing is scheduled this month at Litewave Media video production studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. Using Final Cut Pro and After Effects, the team will craft the perfect video to accompany the pop country song that Erin recorded earlier this year at Tampa’s premier recording studio, Litewave Media. The music video and single will be available in June 2012 on iTunes.

This is one of a number of music videos shot by our video production company in Tampa, Florida. To talk to us about shooting your music video or other video production needs, e-mail us at [email protected].

Tampa Film Studio Shoots Video of Champion Wakeboarder Shota Tezuka

Tampa Film Studio Shoots Video of Champion Wakeboarder Shota Tezuka

Our Tampa video production company recently traveled to Orlando, Florida to shoot a series of TV commercials with world champion wakeboarder, Shota Tezuka.

Wakeboarding, slotted to be a trial sport in the 2016 Olympics, involves riding a fiberglass board over water while being towed by a boat. The sport uses a combination of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing techniques. Shota, 19, held the Junior Pro Men’s title before accepting a position on the coveted MasterCraft team this year.

“We were hired by Espritline, a company that teaches Japanese people to speak English,” explains Litewave Media founder Christian Schwier. “For the last two years, we’ve filmed the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with them and champion Japanese race car driver Takuma Sato. When they came to Florida to film Shota this summer, we were excited to be able to partner with them again for another video production.”

Christian and Makiura “Macky” Takaharu get ready to film.

The shoot took place at Shota’s house, which sits on a private lake outside Orlando. The property also serves as his training course, with two boats on the lake and a team of wakeboarders in residence. Both the TV commercials and videos are designed to show how Shota has used English to become a successful athlete. “The videos show how he uses the English language in his daily life as well as when he competes,” says Schwier.

Schwier was the only Tampa film crew member. The team included three other video production members from Japan, including Litewave Media friend Makiura Takaharu, affectionately known as Macky. The shoot required a wide range of equipment, including the Canon EOS 5D, Canon EOS 7D, the GoPro HD Hero2 for stunt shots on the wakeboard, and a Sony EX3 for video interview footage.

Christian with the crew the day of the shoot.

“We filmed a variety of different scenarios,” says Schwier, a Tampa video production professional for seven years. “One of the most interesting shots was filming Shota from one boat while he was wakeboarding off the back of another boat.” The video crew got some great footage of flips and other tricks. Splashing water was a challenge at times, but everyone was pleased with the footage, which went back to Japan to be edited.

“Shota was great to work with and made the filming easy. We were able to capture some amazing shots of him,” says Schwier, who really enjoys working with his Japanese friends. “We’re excited to include this in our Tampa video production company’s demo reel and hope to see them again soon the next time they come to Florida!”

Christian and Takaki Katano put safety first before filming on the lake.

Tampa Production Company Shoots Warped Tour for UK’s Scuzz TV

Tampa Production Company Shoots Warped Tour for UK’s Scuzz TV

Scuzz TV, the UK’s most popular rock and metal TV station, hired our Tampa film studio to interview and film three of the bands participating in the Warped Tour this year. The international music festival with over 100 bands ranging from punk and metal to reggae and alternative stopped at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, FL this July.

Directory of Photography, Christian Schwier, spent a day in the Florida sun with sound engineer Mike Barnitt and production assistant Harold Hood. Together, they captured the stories and music of the bands and the energy of the fans.

Filming interviews at Warped Tour with band: Miss May I

Ronnie Radke, the lead singer from Falling in Reverse, was one of the musicians interviewed by the Tampa video crew. Part of the conversation focused on how Radke’s life-changing experience of how going to prison affected his music and has contributed to the band’s success. Litewave Media also talked to Of Mice and Men lead singer Austin Carlile and members of the band Miss May I.

“Two of the bands invited us onto their official tour buses,” says Schwier. “Ronnnie Radke actually played us an unreleased track off the band’s new record. It was an incredible experience.” The other interview was conducted in Vinoy Park with the beautiful St. Petersburg Pier as a back drop.

Schwier and his team used two cameras to catch the essence of the bands and the tour: a Panasonic HPX-170 and a Panasonic HVX-200, both 1080p high definition video cameras capable of broadcast quality video acquisition.

Scuzz TV will use the footage in two of their brand new shows, one highlighting the diverse tattoos inked on rock stars and musicians, and the other offering intimate interviews with musicians about their journeys as artists and stars. All footage was transferred to hard drive at our Tampa production studio and express mailed to the UK, where Scuzz TV immediately began editing. Both shows will premier in September.
