Tampa Video Production

On the set of the Binatrix video production

October was a busy month for Litewave Media with our Tampa video production team working on not one but two international HD TV commercial productions. Both commercials were filmed using a combination of Litewave Media’s Panasonic HVX-200 and Canon 5D Mark II.

“Binatrix”
In this video, the creative minds at Litewave Media recreated the “Red Pill Blue Pill” scene from The Matrix for this commercial. Julie Seward, from Litewave Media’s Wine Picks commercials plays Trinity opposite Christian Schwier as Neo and Richard Allen Lee as Morpheus. This video production won 2nd place in an international TV commercial production competition beating out over 70 other TV spots.

“Mint-ily Ever After”
In this video commercial, Litewave Media recreates the “Battle of Wits” scene from The Princess Bride. This commercial was filmed by Andrew Ortoski on Litewave Media’s Panasonic HVX-200.

Wine Picks

Ever since Summer started, it seems like Litewave Media has been busier than ever. Our latest Tampa video production is an ad campaign for Wine Picks, an iPhone app that helps customers choose the perfect wine. We produced three 30 second commercials for the company’s iPhone app, all within the Tampa Bay area. Be sure to check them out below.

“Worst Date EVER”

This video was shot in a local Tampa Bay restaurant on our Panasonic HVX-200 and post production and video special effects were produced by Litewave Media’s video editing team.

“Jacques vs. Wine Picks”

This was another Tampa video production shot at the Wine Warehouse. Our Tampa video crew was led by director, Christian Schwier, and camera operator, Andrew Ortoski. The video was also filmed on our Panasonic HVX-200. “Jacques vs. Wine Picks” was also featured as a prize-winning video on the video production crowd-sourcing site Tongal.com.

“Just a Phone Call Away”

This video production appeared on a French Wine Site and some of you may recognize BobbyAnn from Litewave Media’s award-winning video production “StarGump”.

The Digital SLR Revolution

The Digital SLR Revolution

Over the past several years the video production industry has seen a gradual transition from traditional camcorders like the Panasonic HVX200 to digital DSLR cameras like the Canon D series. What brought about the transition from camcorder to DSLR?

DSLR cameras have a smaller camera body and perform better in low light and offer a wide range of lenses that are easy and quick to change. These factors make the DSLR a cost effective alternative to the large camcorders. Many Hollywood productions are embracing DSLRs and making the switch. Several primetime dramas have started to use DSLRs as well, including the hit show Numb3rs. Another series to embrace the SLR is the medical drama, House. The entire final episode of this season was filmed on the Canon 5D Mark II. Check out the teaser below.

At Litewave Media, we’re no exception. Several months ago our Tampa video production company began incorporating DSLR cameras, such as our Canon 5D and 7D, into our video production equipment. Our latest award-winning independent film, StarGump was filmed on the Canon 5D Mark II. We have been using the DSLR for commercial productions in the Tampa Bay area including a local Sarasota solar panel installation business. However Litewave Media will continue to use camcorders as well, making Litewave Media a truly versatile company capable of both camcorder and DSLR filming.

The training videos were shot on three cyc wall sets at WEDU studios. The shoot lasted three days and we are now entering the editing phase of production.
