Filming With the Sony PXW-FX9 XDCAM 6K Full-Frame Camera

Litewave Media offers a Sony FX9 camera rental at our Tampa camera rental house. The Sony PXW-FX9 XDCAM 6K is a full frame camera that combines the functionality of the Sony FS7 with the convenience of mirrorless Sony alpha series cameras. It is one of the most affordable full frame cinema cameras out there, and offers a decent autofocus system and 180fps in HD filming. While it does have a 6K sensor, it downsamples its footage to make it more similar to true 4K. The camera features XLR audio ports and an internal gyroscope that will deliver gimbal-like stability.  

The Sony FX9 camera rental has two shooting modes: custom and Cine EI, which replicates a film look. The color science of the camera also borrows from the Sony Venice for a setting called S-Cinetone, a very beautiful look for video.

Sony FX9 has a native E-mount for lenses, but we also include a Metabones EF adapter to attach Canon cinema lenses, like the Canon CN-E primes.

The Sony 28-135mm full frame lens, pictured below, pairs well with our full frame cameras like the Sony FX9 or a7S III or the Sony FS7.
