Cinema filters are translucent glass or gels that are put in front of the lens to adjust the light, add color, or other special properties. The Schneider 4×5.65 ND Filter Set in sizes .3, .6, .9, 1.2, 1.5 will help you adjust exposure without compromising picture quality in all situations. The range of filters will help you film in slightly overexposed situations to more intense exposure issues.
ARRI Rota Pola Filter
Our ARRI Rota Pola Frame is used to reduce unwanted light and glare. This polarizing reduces unwanted reflections and increases saturation in exterior scenes. This is especially useful for filming more dramatic skies and sunsets.
Schneider Hollywood Black Magic 4×5.65 Filter (1/8, 1/4, 1/2)
We offer Schneider 4 x 5.65″ Hollywood Black Magic filters in grades 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2. These filters can be used on your lens to reduce blemishes and wrinkles in your image. These filters are great for softening the image, and will reduce the highlight and mid-tone contrast. It also creates a glow around highlights while maintaining the sharpness of the rest of the image. Each filter grade increases this effect. It is meant to be used with a 4×5 matte box like the ARRI LMB 4×5.
Schneider Linear True Polarizer 4×5.65 Filter
The Schneider 4 x 5.65” Linear True-Pol Polarizing filter is one of the most effective filters for filtering out light glare for cameras. It also reduces unwanted reflections, saturates colors, improves the contrast, and penetrates haze on cameras. It is meant to be used on a 4×5 matte box like the ARRI LMB 4×5.
Schneider Diopters – 138mm (1/2, 1, 2, 3)
We offer the Schneider 138mm diopter lens in grades 1/2, 1, 2, and 3. These filters improve close-up quality for cameras, shortening the close-focusing distance of fixed length or zoom lenses. This allows for a larger image size and sharp details in the image. It is a great addition for macro photography. It also has anti-reflective coating on it to reduce light loss and flares. They can also be stacked for even more close-up images.
Schneider True Streak Blue 4×5.65 Filter (2mm)
The Schneider True Streak Blue 4×5.65 Filter (2mm) is meant to be used along with a light source to create anamorphic-like blue streaks of light to draw attention to a part of the frame or create a dramatic effect. This filter is a favorite for cinematographers who want an anamorphic look without an anamorphic lens.
Schneider Low Contrast 4×5.65 Filter (1/4)
The Schneider Low Contrast 4×5.65 Filter (1/4) is a filter that can mute excessive contrast found in natural conditions, or desaturate a scene for artistic mood. Low contrast filters are useful for taking off the high contrast edge of sharp modern lenses.
Schneider ND SEH 4×5.65 Filter (.6)
The Schneider Neutral Density (ND) 0.6 Soft Edge Horizontal Orientation (SEH) 4 x 5.65” filter allows you to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. This filter is 50% clear and 50% has a neutral density of 0.6 separated by a soft edge. This filter would be helpful for outdoor shooting situations where it is difficult to expose both the sky and the earth. By using this filter with the 0.6 ND section in the upper half, it will better control the light given by the sky. It is meant to be used with a matte box. The Schneider Grad ND Hard, Horizontal 4×5.65 filter (.6) allows you to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. This filter is 50% clear and 50% has a neutral density of 0.6 separated by a hard edge. This allows filming outside to be done with more level exposure between the sky and ground. This is preferable for lenses with a long focal length. It is meant to be used with a 4×5 matte box like the ARRI LMB 4×5.
Schneider Optical Flat Clear Glass 4×5.65
The Schneider Optical Flat Clear Glass 4×5.65 filter is a good filter to use to protect your lens and minimizes color distortion from filter variations. It is clear, so it can be used at all times that you are using your lens to protect it. Both sides have anti-reflective coating that improves light transmission.
Tiffen Black Pro Mist 4×5.65 Filter (1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1)
The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 4×5.65” filter comes in grade 1/8, 1/4, and 1. It helps to reduce the highlights while lowering overall contrast. This filter is best for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and blemishes. This filter, while softening, preserves the detail in the image.
Tiffen Glimmerglass 4×5.65 Filter (1/8, 1/4, 1/2)
The Tiffen Glimmerglass 4×5.65” filter comes in grade 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2. It will create glowing highlights, soften facial details, and adds a sparkle appearance when viewed from the front. While it creates a soft halo effect around light sources, the image quality overall stays sharp. Its low contrast effect mutes bright colors.
Tiffen Pearlescent 4×5.65 Filter (1/8, 1/4)
The Tiffen Pearlescent 4×5.65” filter (1/4) comes in grade 1/4. It can be used to soften contrast and reduce image sharpness. It causes a more flattering subject rendering by reducing blemishes and softening highlights. It is best used for digital cinematography. It creates a slightly reduced pearlescent halo around highlights, which can be favorable for creating a special effect.
Tiffen Fog 4×5.65 Filter (2)
The Tiffen Fog 4×5.65 Filter (2) simulates the effects of fog or mist by creating a soft glow around highlights and lowering the contrast of the picture as a whole. It does not require exposure compensation for the filter. It is a useful special effects option if you are in a location that doesn’t allow for a smoke or haze machine or if you don’t have the budget for one.
